Bengaluru: Bangalore’s Electronic City has been on high alert after a leopard was spotted early Tuesday morning. Following the sighting, the Leopard Task Force began searching the area and making announcements to warn residents and workers. The big cat’s movement, captured on CCTV, showed it crossing a flyover near the Phase 1 toll plaza around 3 a.m. In the footage, a man walking near the road appeared unaware of the leopard’s presence until he quickly moved away in alarm. The task force, along with the Civil Defence Force, is actively searching for the leopard in and around Electronic City, especially near the toll gates.

Sunil Joshi, Principal of the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), which is near the sighting area, talked about the situation earlier, "We got an update from the camera near the toll gate that a leopard had passed near the compound wall. Precautionary checks were conducted on the campus and the CCTV. Forest department officials also came to reconfirm and said no leopard was seen. A camera image suggested that it moved from the compound wall, so we took the necessary precautions, as this is a training centre. Forest officials are alert, and they have assured us that they are tracking it." We have checked all the rooms and the CCTV footage, and there is no trace of the leopard here so far. The police also arrived. We got to know about this case from them. It was confirmed by 8:30 yesterday that no leopard was sighted here, so we have resumed classes today. The leopard was spotted walking near the pathway next to the compound, but we don't know where it went next. So we conducted precautionary checks."The leopard reportedly moved from the Panak India Company area to the NTTF ground. Despite the absence of the leopard in the immediate vicinity, safety measures remain in place as the search continues in Electronic City, a major IT hub.
