Love is in the air! After dating each other for a while, Taapsee Pannu and Mathias Boe tied the knot of love and togetherness in March, this year, in an intimate ceremony. The Dunki actress finally confirmed the wedding, but we're still looking forward to their official wedding pictures. However, Taapsee recently revealed some insights about her wedding attire choices, shedding light on why she opted for a traditional salwar kameez over the conventional lehenga

From Haldi to Shaadi: Taapsee reveals wedding details

Reflecting on her upbringing influenced by Sikh and Gurudwara weddings, Taapsee envisioned herself in a classic red salwar kameez adorned with kinari on the borders. And, she looked absolutely gorgeous. In a candid conversation with HT City, she said, "I’ve grown up seeing Sikh, Gurudwara weddings, so for me, the vintage idea, the classic idea of getting married was always in a proper red salwar kameez paired with a dupatta with kinari on the border. That’s the only way I know a bride looks like a bride, and it didn’t feel real wedding vibe to me to imagine myself dressing up in pastel-hued lehengas."

Maintaining privacy was paramount for Taapsee, leading her to eschew involvement from prominent designers. Instead, she entrusted her college friend, Mani Bhatia, to curate her outfits for all the wedding functions.

Taapsee's wedding ensemble was a blend of tradition and personal touch. For her haldi ceremony, she sported a Punjabi-style lungi paired with a kurta, reminiscent of a scene from the iconic Bollywood film DDLJ. Meanwhile, her sangeet attire featured bell-bottom pants and a glitzy top, exuding contemporary elegance.

She quipped, "For the wedding, I wore traditional Punjabi saggi phull, which is a hair accessory, along with a very light necklace and earrings that my grandmother gave to my mother at her wedding. I had no other jing bhang for the Indian wedding. My chooda and kaleere also were very basic.”

Taapsee on her Danish wedding

In a nod to her family's heritage, Taapsee adorned herself with heirloom jewellery passed down from her mother and grandmother. For her Danish wedding, Taapsee donned a stunning gown crafted by designer Lasse Spangenberg. Embracing Danish wedding traditions, Taapsee incorporated elements symbolising "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Her gown represented the new, while she adorned "old" heels and "borrowed" pearl earrings from her stylist, Devki.

Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that she and her sister were in Demark for five days as they had to keep in check all the fittings of her dress. The pièce de résistance was Taapsee's veil, meticulously embroidered with significant dates from her relationship with Mathias in blue thread. This subtle yet meaningful detail depicts the couple's journey.

For the unversed, news of Taapsee and Mathias's wedding initially broke in March, with reports suggesting an intimate affair held in Udaipur.
