MUMBAI : FMCG major HUL and Mamaearth parent Honasa Consumer , who are locked in a beauty product battle, informed the Bombay high court on Thursday that as an interim arrangement, each side will take down their advertisements and posts, in view of statements made before the Delhi HC.
HUL had filed a trademark infringement suit see king interim orders against the Delhi-based company and its director Ghazal Alagh to stop publication of allegedly “disparaging” posts.
Arguing before Justice Arif Doctor, HUL’s senior counsel Virag Tulzapurkar and advocate Hiren Kamod said the issue was “urgent”. Senior counsel Sharan Jagtiani, appearing for Honasa, pointed out that his client had already moved the Delhi high court against HUL’s advertisement of a product, which it alleged was copying its own.
At 4pm, both sides agreed to an interim arrangement of taking down the advertisements within 24 hours and hoardings within 48 hours. HUL said it would continue its campaign with some modification. The matter is scheduled before the Delhi HC next on Monday.
