Kareena Kapoor debuted in June 2000 with JP Dutta's Refugee and has since become a leading star in Hindi cinema. Following her success with Crew in March 2024, she's now signed on for one of Indian cinema's biggest upcoming films.

According to Pinkvilla, Kareena has been offered several major Pan India films recently and has signed on for what might become one of the most significant projects in Indian cinema over the next two years. The film features a role she hasn’t played before and is directed by one of the most celebrated and reliable names in the industry. Excited for this new chapter, Kareena is embarking on this project as she celebrates her 25th year in acting.



The report also added that Kareena was quickly drawn to the role and the director's vision for the film. Normally, she takes her time to decide on new projects, but this time, she immediately agreed after the narration. She was impressed by the director's world-building and is eager to explore the character's new dimensions on set.




The film is set to begin shooting in January 2025 and is expected to release in 2026, with extensive filming planned both in India and internationally. Kareena Kapoor has dedicated much of 2025 to this project, marking her 25th year in cinema with this major film. It’s a Pan India production directed by a prominent filmmaker, featuring actors from various industries in pivotal roles.

Before starting work on the big Pan India film, Kareena Kapoor will film an untitled movie with Meghna Gulzar. In this film, she will play a police officer, with shooting set to begin in November 2024.
