Kangana Ranaut accuses Bollywood actors of assaulting and exploiting women; Says, 'They call them for dinners..'

Kangana Ranaut's highly anticipated directorial film 'Emergency' has been postponed due to ongoing controversies and the delay in receiving certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Recently, the 'Tejas' actress addressed the issue of women's safety in society and accused Bollywood actors of assaulting and exploiting women within the film industry.

In an interview with News 18, Kangana Ranaut discussed how some Bollywood actors exploit women, explaining that they often invite them to dinners, send messages, and ask them to come to their homes. She also addressed the Kolkata rape and murder case, drawing a parallel with her own experience of receiving rape threats.

Kangana pointed out that there is a general lack of respect for women in society, and the film industry is no exception. She noted that just as college boys make inappropriate comments toward women, film heroes behave similarly, highlighting the mistreatment women face in workplaces.

Referring to a past comment by the late Saroj Khan, Kangana Ranaut remarked, "Saroj Khan was once asked about rape and sexual assault in the film industry, and she said, 'Rape toh karte hai par roti bhi dete hai'. ('Rape happens, but they also provide bread.') This reflects the dire situation faced by women in the film industry today."

Earlier, a report revealed that Kangana Ranaut sold her Pali Hill property in Bandra for Rs 32 crore. Confirming this, the actress explained, "My film was originally set for release, and I invested all my personal property into it. Now that the release has been delayed, this is what properties are meant for to help during times of crisis."

Meanwhile, 'Emergency' is still awaiting certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film also stars Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles.
