Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana Konidela, a prominent entrepreneur, recently opened up about her views on mental health and her experience with depression, emotional eating, and more. She revealed that gaining control over her physical and emotional health has been her "biggest achievement".
In a conversation with content creator Masoom Minawala, Upasana shared her vulnerability and past coping mechanisms. “I would lock myself in a room and feel depressed,” she said, recalling moments when she would isolate herself and turn to food during emotionally overwhelming situations. She admitted that during stressful periods, eating became a source of comfort.
However, Upasana said she has since made a conscious shift, developing healthier habits and finding better ways to manage stress. “I now know how to deal with situations like these. If I’m stressed, I tell myself to find a solution. I don’t eat excessively during that time as I used to before,” she explained. “Today, I am very proud to say that I have control over my body.”

Upasana credited this transformation to a change in mindset and lifestyle. She described adopting a more structured approach—writing things down, analysing possible solutions, and acting only when she feels confident in the outcome. “So, it’s not just about spiralling downward. I think these exercises have helped me a lot in my life,” Upasana said. She credited a proper routine with bringing balance to her life.
Married to Ram Charan since 2012, Upasana has often been seen as a strong support system for the actor. Their love story began during their school days, though the two lost touch for a while before reconnecting years later. After rekindling their bond, they got engaged in December 2011 and tied the knot the following year in a lavish ceremony in Hyderabad.
The couple embraced parenthood in June 2023 with the birth of their daughter, Klin Kaara.
On the work front, Ram Charan was last seen in S. Shankar’s Game Changer, alongside actress Kiara Advani. He is now gearing up for the release of Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi, alongside Janhvi Kapoor.
