Bruce Bochy makes MLB history with 2,195th win as Texas Rangers beat Houston Astros

On Thursday night, Bruce Bochy made history when the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 1-0. It was Bochy’s 2,195th career win as a manager, and that has moved him ahead of Sparky Anderson for the sixth-most wins in MLB history .

Bochy is 70-years-old and has had a terrific history in MLB. He has been managing for at least 28 seasons. He has coached three teams, that include the San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, and now the Texas Rangers.


Bochy’s overall record is 2,195 wins and 2,206 losses. He has won four World Series titles—three with the Giants and one with the Rangers, which was their first ever championship.




All five managers ahead of Bochy are in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The next manager to join the list is Joe Torre with 2,326 wins.

As per the victory record, it is Connie Mack who has at least 3,731 wins, and it is followed by Tony La Russa, John McGraw, and Bobby Cox.



Bochy managed to secure four World Series titles, three of them were with the San Francisco Giants and one with the Texas Rangers. He managed the Padres from 1995 to 2006, the Giants from 2007 to 2019, and is now in his third season with the Rangers, holding a record of 192 wins and 177 losses with Texas so far.



Rangers’ Jacob deGrom performs well against Astros

As Texas Rangers’ Jacob deGrom pitched eight strong innings to help his team win 1-0 against the Houston Astros. It was his fourth straight win. He gave up five hits, walked one, and struck out seven batters. DeGrom, 36, is doing well after missing most of the last two years due to elbow surgery.

Jake Burger hit the only run of the game with a solo home run. Astros pitcher Hunter Brown, 26, also did very well, striking out nine and allowing just three hits in his first full game. But the Astros couldn’t score, and the Rangers took the win.
