Dwyane Wade's daughter Kaavia spots the mark on his tee as mom Gabrielle Union reveals she peed on him on red carpet

Former Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade was peed on by his 8-month-old daughter during his red carpet appearance at the 2019 Kids’ Choice Sports Awards alongside wife and actor Gabrielle Union . The revelation was made by Union in her recent interaction with People, which also featured their daughter Kaavia, now 6, by her side.

Kaavia found herself missing in her mommy’s old pictures, since she wasn’t born yet, but was elated to find herself in the one from the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards. As Kaavia commented on how her parents dressed up “cool” in the picture and she was in white, Union interrupted to share a trivia: “You know what happened on this carpet right here? You peed on us.”

As Kaavia listened, Union added, “Your diaper did not hold. It did not hold, which is one of the reasons Mommy and Daddy created Proudly, so parents don't get peed on, on red carpets.” Kaavia then went on to spot the wet mark on Wade’s white t-shirt in the picture.

The wholesome video was shared by Union on Instagram. Actress Viola Davis called them “The sweetest” in the comments section. Reacting to it, a fan wrote, “I could watch them all day.” Another said, “Oh my goodness. I love this.” One more wrote, “Currently crying, so cute my heart.” A comment also read: “This is so precious.” “Keep shining” read another.

Dwyane Wade retired from professional basketball in 2019. He currently hosts the American adaptation of The Cube. He was named among the NBA’s greatest players of all time by his inclusion in the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. He was also inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.

Wade and Union welcomed Kaavia James Wade in 2018 via a surrogate. Union has starred in several TV shows and has the hit film Bring It On to her credit. Union and Wade have also been awarded the President's Award from the NAACP Image Awards for their humanitarian efforts.
