Riot Games ' tactical shooter Valorant has officially launched its open beta for PlayStation and Xbox console s. The free-to-play title is now accessible to console players, with in-game purchases available for those looking to speed up their progress.

To adapt to console controls, the game developer introduces "Focus," a new shooting mode similar to the PC version's "Hip Fire" but with reduced sensitivity.

In a post on Xbox Wire, Riot Games has expressed a long-term commitment to Valorant on consoles, indicating plans for continued support and development beyond the open beta phase. A dedicated FAQ has also been released to address common player inquiries.

The game’s executive producer Andy Ho wrote: “We're getting to the starting line as we like to say. This is a game that we don't have an end date in mind for. We want to invest in it on an infinite horizon so that players feel like their investment into the game is always going to be worth it.”

Valorant's highly anticipated Open Beta is now available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Players can dive into the free-to-play tactical shooter and experience the game firsthand.

For those in regions where the Open Beta isn't accessible yet, there's an option to wishlist the game and receive notifications once it becomes available.

Valorant's Open Beta will feature cross-play exclusively between PlayStation and Xbox players, maintaining separate matchmaking from PC players to ensure competitive fairness.

Player progress, including Battle Pass progression, Agent unlocks, and purchased skins, will be unified across both console platforms and PC. Any items acquired on a PC will be accessible when playing on a console.

Riot is yet to confirm when Valorant will exit the beta and "officially" release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
