NEW DELHI: Bihar Sampark Kranti Express train, travelling from Darbhanga to New Delhi, received a bomb threat on Friday evening, triggering panic among passengers and security personnel.

Uttar Pradesh's Gonda junction received a tip-off from Delhi Control room over the bomb threat.

“Delhi control room received a call informing that a bomb has been planted in the train coming from Bihar. It was train no. 12565 from Darbhangha to New Delhi," Gonda Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector Narendra Pal Singh said to PTI.

The train was halted at Gonda Junction at 7:30 pm and thoroughly searched by a bomb disposal squad but no suspicious objects or explosives were found, officials said. The train was eventually allowed to proceed to its destination.

"We found nothing as such, and the train is now leaving from here (Gonda),” Singh said. He added that the investigations are on to identify those who sent the hoax bomb threat .
