KANPUR: A PhD scholar , 28, at IIT-Kanpur (IIT-K), Pragati Kharya, ended her life in her hostel room on Thursday, the fourth such incident at the institute in the last one year.
Pragati was pursuing a doctorate in Earth Sciences. As she didn't attend morning classes, her friends called her up multiple times, but there was no response. Hostel inmates informed the authorities, who alerted police. A suicide note was found, but she held no one responsible for her action.
