NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar will visit the United States from June 30 to July 2 at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio .
During the visit, he will take part in the next edition of the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting (QFMM), scheduled for July 1 in Washington, DC
The Quad foreign ministers will continue discussions from their last meeting held in Washington DC on January 21, 2025. They will share views on important regional and global issues, especially those related to the Indo-Pacific . The Ministers will also review the progress made on various Quad projects ahead of the Quad Leaders’ Summit, which will be hosted by India.
The Ministers are also expected to deliberate on new proposals aimed at advancing the shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
Jaishankar will also travel to New York on June 30 to inaugurate an exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the United Nations Headquarters. The exhibition will highlight the devastating toll of heinous terrorist acts around the world, and the steps taken by the international community to combat terrorism .
