UP cracks down on Nepal border encroachments

LUCKNOW: UP govt launched major anti-encroachment drives in districts bordering Nepal on Monday, clearing illegal structures in areas up to 10 km from the border.

Bahraich DM Monica Rani said 227 cases of encroachment were identified in Nanpara. Of these, two illegal structures were demolished, clearing 91 sites. In Mihipurwa, four illegal structures were demolished Monday & 12 Sunday, freeing 16 govt plots.

Shravasti administration sealed 12 unrecognised madrassas , DM Ajay Kumar Dwivedi said. A mosque illegally built on govt land in Bhinga tehsil's Roshangarh village was demolished.
