NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday while addressing a rally in Hisar, Haryana took a light-hearted dig at the Congress party and accused them of deceiving the people of Himachal Pradesh during their election campaign .

PM Modi said, "You can't even imagine the lies they told the people of Himachal during the elections. Now, after coming to power, Congress has completely backed out of their promises. The people are asking Congress, ‘Kya hua tera wada’ (What happened to your promises?), and Congress is responding, 'Tum kaun?' (Who are you?).” (Chunaav ke dauran Himanchal ki janata ko inhone kya kya jhoth nhi bola, aap kalpana nhi kar skte. Abb sarkar banne ke baad congress ne apne vaydon se palla jhaad liya hai. Janata Congress se keh rhi hai "Kya hua tera Wada," aur congress Janta se puch rhi tum kaun.)

Continuing his attack on Congress, the PM Modi remarked on the internal rift within the party and said, "People are seeing how there is infighting in Congress to become the chief minister. 'Bapu' is also a contender, and so is his son. Both of them are together engaged in eliminating others. And seeing all this, the aware citizens of Haryana have started eliminating Congress.”

PM Modi also accused the party of being anti-Dalit, stating, “The doors of Congress are completely closed for Dalits and backward communities. Congress knows that Dalits do not vote for it, which is why it hates the entire Dalit community.”

Targeting Congress's approach to farmers , PM Modi said, "Congress is a very selfish party; they can't see anything beyond votes. They have seen farmers as its vote bank. Congress has always made farmers yearn for water, whereas BJP is trying to bring solutions for their problems."

He further criticised Congress’s ability to govern effectively, suggesting the party lacks internal unity. "There can never be stability where Congress is. How can a party that cannot bring unity among its leaders bring stability to the state?" he asked.

Meanwhile, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to those who have contributed to Haryana’s development. “I salute all those who have contributed to the development of Haryana. Today, on the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, I would like to salute him as well,” said Modi.
