"In the interest of transparency and clarity for all perspective candidates we are encouraging people to 'dress for success' and give a great first impression as they aspire to join the flight attendant ranks," the spokesperson added.

This is just one point in the two-page memo that includes that the applicants should not have neon or multi-colored nails and how long their eyelashes would be etc. All staff member must always maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene, eyelashes should appear natural, avoiding extreme length and volume. Facial hair must be trimmed and neatly maintained, the memo said. Visible tattoos are not allowed and must be covered by clothing or waterproof makeup, but not bandages.

Fingernails must be clean, neat, trimmed and if there is a polish then it should not be chipped.

"Delta Flight attendants spend the most time with our customers and are the face of our airline, They must be passionate about enhancing each customer's experience while embodying the Delta brand," the flight attendant hiring appearance requirements stipulated.

On how to smell, the guideline said aftershave, cologne and perfume may be used but they have to be applied lightly. On the length of hair, the memo said there should be no color as in the locks must have a natural-looking hue.
