Ant McPartlin reveals first year as a dad has been 'the best' amid sleepless nights

TV favourite Ant McPartlin has embraced the joys and challenges of fatherhood with open arms.

The ' I'm a Celebrity ' host, who turned 48 this year, entered the parenting world in May when his wife Anne-Marie Corbett welcomed their bouncing baby boy. Chatting with the Daily Star, Ant couldn't contain his happiness: "I'm really good, I'm really happy. There are lots of nappies and sleepless nights but it's absolutely wonderful."

He beamed, adding, "I'm loving it. It's been the best year." Even with the new responsibilities, Ant is not alone; his mate and on-screen partner Declan Donnelly has been dishing out tips - though with a cheeky disclaimer. Dec, experienced in the dad department with two kids of his own, has provided guidance, albeit with humour: "I do share tips and things. They're very bad. My tips are normally: give the baby to somebody else! That's it."

Ant took to Instagram to share his joy at becoming a dad, posting a touching black-and-white photo of his newborn with a heartfelt caption: "Welcome to the family."

He introduced his son to the world: "Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy's a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad's a mess. (sic)". Parenthood was always in the cards for Ant, who previously attempted to start a family with his ex-wife, makeup expert Lisa Armstrong.

The acclaimed TV personality previously opened up to Radio Times, revealing: "Lisa and I would love to have kids. We're trying. It's tougher than you think when you get a bit older." The celebrity couple parted ways in 2018, following an 11-year marriage, with his romance with Anne-Marie emerging publicly half a year afterwards.
