Strictly Come Dancing's JB Gill reveals what his wife first thought about Amy Dowden partnership

Strictly Come Dancing's JB Gill has revealed what his wife said about his partnership with Amy Dowden.

The JLS star is competing on the latest series of the popular dance show where he is partnered up with the Welsh beauty. He has since revealed that his wife, who is also a professional dancer, was hoping that he would be paired with Amy.

The pair are due to take to the dancefloor this Saturday where they will show off their best moves. JB already has Strictly experience as he won the special Christmas version of the show back in 2012.

Speaking to Radio Times, JB said: "My wife said, 'I think they want you to be with Amy.' I was very hopeful that I would get her. I've met Amy before and she's lovely. I knew I'd be in good hands." Amy has said she is hopeful that the duo will go far in the series.

She said: "You've got to aim high, but we're not going to put pressure on ourselves. We're going to enjoy every single week. Our only competition is us. And especially after missing out on last year. I just want to be part of it for as long as I possibly can to make up for lost time."

JB Gill recently shared a video of himself dancing with with his rarely seen wife ahead of week two of Strictly Come Dancing. The star posted the clip to his social media where he was seen rehearsing with Amy.

As the pair showed off some impressive moves Chloe joined them proving that she was just as skilled a dancer as her husband and his pro partner. JB, 37, captioned the post writing: "Had a surprise visit in rehearsals today from the one and only @mrschloegill! She got a sneak preview of my week 2 routine which is FULL ON! The vibes were undeniable! Can’t wait for you all to see it."

His fans then rushed to comment on the video as they all pointed out the same thing about Chloe and her fancy footwork. One said: "I mean I’m a bit obsessed with your wife." "Chloe needs to be on Strictly," another added.

A third confessed: "She’s got the moves," while a fourth commented: "She’s a complete VIBE!" Chloe also shared her own update from the rehearsals as she said: "Dropped into rehearsals today! Boyyyyy are they working hard this week! So excited for you all to see on @bbcstrictly this Saturday! #TeamJAmy."

Chloe is a former professional backing dancer and met JB in 2008 when he was starring on The X Factor. The couple hit it off and began dating before they married in 2014. They have two children, son Ace, who just turned 10, and daughter Chiara who is six.
