Patient Watches NTR's Blockbuster Film Adhurs While Undergoing Brain Surgery

This could possibly be described as an ‘eccentric encounter.’ Doctors from Andhra Pradesh state have performed brain surgery to a patient while she was watching 2009 NTR’s Blockbuster film Adhurs. A 55-year-old patient Ananthalakshmi underwent surgery for a brain tumour at Kakinada's Government General Hospital (GGH). According to reports, doctors have performed the surgery via ‘Awake Craniotomy’ on Tuesday.

Her Favourite Film Is AdhursAwake Craniotomy is a process wherein the patient remains conscious during the procedure. And in a bid to keep Anantalakshmi calm and focused during the surgery, the doctors screened scenes from Jr NTR’s Adhurs, her favourite film. The doctors successfully removed the tumour in a surgery that lasted for around two-and-a-half-hours. The doctors anticipate that the patient will be discharged within five days. Surgery Was Performed For The First Time At GGHAccording to doctors, this type of surgery was performed for the first time at GGH. Patients are kept awake during the procedure so they can respond to questions and ensure no nerves are damaged. To keep the patient distracted, the doctors played her favorite comedy scenes from Adurs, featuring Jr. NTR and Brahmanandam. Engaged in the film, the patient remained blissfully unaware of the procedure.
